Demolition at Elizabeth House Underway
Demolition work has now started at the former sheltered housing and care home scheme, Elizabeth House, in Welwyn Garden City. Following the granting of planning consent in 2025 for a new 51-home extra care housing scheme, the start of demolition marks a key milestone in bringing much-needed homes forward for the local community. This phase represents the first visible step in transforming the site ahead of construction, which is expected to begin in March 2026 with Hill Partnerships Limited.
