FGCH Exchanges Contracts for 48 Affordable Homes at Talbot Way, Letchworth Garden City

First Garden Cities Homes (FGCH) is delighted to announce that contracts have today been exchanged to deliver 48 affordable homes at the prestigious Talbot Way development in Letchworth Garden City, Hertfordshire, being delivered by Barratt Redrow. Forming part of a wider 120 home development, the affordable housing provision will comprise 29 homes for Affordable Rent, two homes for Social Rent and 17 homes for Shared Ownership, helping to meet a range of local housing needs.

Barratt Redrow anticipates commencing construction shortly, subject to the grant of Reserved Matters planning permission, which is expected later this month. The affordable homes are programmed for delivery between 2027 and 2029. Part of the attraction for FGCH in becoming involved in the scheme at an early stage was the opportunity to work collaboratively with Barratt Redrow to help shape a high quality, landscape led development that reflects the principles of the Garden City movement and the distinctive architectural character of Letchworth Garden City, whilst meeting the needs and aspirations of modern day residents. The scheme represents a significant investment in the future of the town and will provide much needed affordable homes for local people, ensuring that a broad range of households can continue to live and thrive within the town.

FGCH looks forward to working with Barratt Redrow as the scheme starts delivering new homes from late 2027 onwards.
